The Next Frontier in Freedom

It's not the Middle East.

It is not in Africa.

It is here, in America.

A couple of days ago I had a conversation with my (brilliant) mother. We spoke about freedoms, and how America has fought for generations to ensure equal rights and freedoms for all. We noted how the last 2 generations had made huge strides for Black rights and Womens rights. However we also noted that there is still one group who's rights lag behind, Gay Rights.

Not so sure? Not quite convinced?

I'LL PROVE IT:

It is considered socially inappropriate to say that there are any
rights that a White person should have that a Black person should not
(or you're racist)

It is considered socially inappropriate to say that there are any rights that a Man should have that a Woman should not
(or you're sexist)

BUT
It is still socially acceptable to state (out loud and in front of other people) that there are some rights that straight people should have the gay people should not
.

(Google "Proposition 8" if you don't know what I'm talking about)

Perception dictates reality.
