Shameful Propoganda

Here is the definition of the word "propaganda"
"
Propaganda is the deliberate, systematic attempt to shape perceptions, manipulate cognitions, and direct behavior to achieve a response that furthers the desired intent of the propagandist."

I remember being shown examples of Nazi propaganda in high school. We were all incredulous that people could be motivated by such blatant manipulations, and ridiculed the people of the time for being so easily persuaded (weak willed?).
..

Please take a few moments to enjoy this compelling music video "WARRIOR" performed by Kid Rock, featuring the popular generational-icon Dale Earnhardt Jr. and produced (paid for) by the United States National Guard.

The Next Frontier in Freedom

It's not the Middle East.

It is not in Africa.

It is here, in America.

A couple of days ago I had a conversation with my (brilliant) mother. We spoke about freedoms, and how America has fought for generations to ensure equal rights and freedoms for all. We noted how the last 2 generations had made huge strides for Black rights and Womens rights. However we also noted that there is still one group who's rights lag behind, Gay Rights.

Not so sure? Not quite convinced?

I'LL PROVE IT:

It is considered socially inappropriate to say that there are any
rights that a White person should have that a Black person should not
(or you're racist)

It is considered socially inappropriate to say that there are any rights that a Man should have that a Woman should not
(or you're sexist)

BUT
It is still socially acceptable to state (out loud and in front of other people) that there are some rights that straight people should have the gay people should not
.

(Google "Proposition 8" if you don't know what I'm talking about)

Perception dictates reality.

George Bush Made History Yesterday

Yesterday brought the announcement that George W. Bush has broken the record for having achieved the lowest public approval ratings of any American President... ever.

On the same day; so many reporters asked Barack Obama if he'd support an immediate short-term economic stimulus package that he had to politely remind them that we do have a sitting president, and that he, in fact, is not it.

Forgiving Lieberman

Democratic Senator Joe Lieberman campaigned against his Party in the 2008 Presidential election to support his friend John McCain, Republican nominee for President. In the process he made some disparaging remarks about Senator Barack Obama. Now that Obama is President Elect, and is urging fellow Democrats to forgive Lieberman's "transgressions", a lot of people are calling his act of forgiveness a "sign of weakness".

"The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend."
- Abraham Lincoln

Obama is going to have to do a lot of consensus-building if he's going to help dig our nation out of this social and economic mess we're in. This good political maneuver is an act of assured strength.
